SWTOR Vanguard Guide Review

star wars the old republic vanguard guideListening too all the online buzz about this guide made me wonder and feel very skeptic about all guides as I usually am. Now with all the hype thats going around about Star Wars the Old Republic, I decided to get this SWTOR Vanguard guide from a site called KillerGuides.com

This site is known for their guides and has pretty good customer ratings on their site. But who can believe all the overly positive reviews on the site. Anyhow, I decided to give their guides a try hoping that they wouldn’t be just another failure or let down.

Before buying, I read up a little on what the guide has to offer and one thing stood out among the rest was that fact that if you bought the guide once, you got lifetime updates for free for that guide. Imagine if you bought their All Access Pass which lets you in on their entire library of mmo guides or their SWTOR complete guides bundle.

Digging in deeper into the guide, a PDF format guide, the guide looked like a classic. Using old aged borders and watermarks behind the text, I liked their presentation. Simple and easy to read. With table of contents and easy to read text, I found my way around to be quite easy. Proving yet another fact that simplicity is key.

Now to their content. They feature and cover quite a lot throughout their guide. Their tables and informative in-game examples make the guide very useful for the gamer whose mind is set lose in the tons of quests and skills. The guide provides information on what I like the best was their credit-making strategies. Something that I thought were not worth doing are actually money makers just not that obvious. The writer shows exact locations on where you can earn the most money which saved me loads of time. Like any other mmo I’ve played, the beginning was always the most difficult. Never once started out a character perfectly and I’m guessing you have not too. This guide shows leveling paths according to each play style. If you have lots of friends playing, then you might consider not upping some skills as your friends compliment yours for example.

Overall I thought the guide was a good purchase and if you’re for the same experience with a purchased guide, this would probably be your place – Star Wars the Old Republic Vanguard Guide

SWTOR Vanguard Guide

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is one of the most popular video game franchises in the history of Star Wars video games. In the game you are able to select a character, adjust their weapons and abilities and decide how you want to perform quests and tasks in the game. Every decision you make during the course of the game has an effect on the actual outcome and the conclusion of the video game. With Star Wars: The Old Republic, the video game franchise is moving in a different and larger direction. In SWTOR you still are able to select your character class, adjust armor and ability while making real time decisions, but this time you are playing against thousands of other individuals on the Internet. This is because SWTOR isn’t just for a video game console anymore, but is now a multilayer online role playing game. Among one of the available classes in the game is Vanguard.

If firepower is more your style than a lightsaber, flamethrower or force effects, Vanguard is the right character for you. Considered part of the trooper class (the other is SWTOR Commando), Vanguard gives you an extremely dangerous arsenal of weapons and armor. The main weapon for these troopers is a large based blaster rifle and power energy shields as a defense. The character is able to take an amazing amount of damage before going down and you can also carry more equipment than most other characters. This is helpful as the weapons and armor your character uses is especially heavy (more so than any other character). You are able to upgrade and improve your weapons with a number of advancements, ensure you have the most accurate aim from a large distance.

There’s a main downside to this character. The individual does not move very fast. If you are stuck in the open field against enemies you are not going to outrun their weapons. If you ever find yourself in this position your best option is just to turn around and fight your way out. Yes, your weapons should take out a large mount of apposing troops, but if you face powerful enemies that are proficient in close combat techniques you may be in trouble. Such characters include bounty hunters and jedi. There isn’t much you can do against a lightsaber or flamethrower of the apposing individual, although your armor is going to help your defenses. This is why you need to take out the individual as quickly as possible from long range. With your superior long distance weapons and heavy duty armor, you hold a significant advance when fighting from a distance (the only character that fights further away are soldiers with a sniper rifle.

There you go, a short guide to the Vanguard. For more detailed content and gaming strategies, check out SWTOR Vanguard Guide.
